Little hands helping Dr Fiona McBride

My strongest passion is in treating women during pregnancy as well as paediatric care. Improving the health of both mother and baby, allowing them to enjoy a better quality of life
throughout pregnancy, birth and early childhood gives me huge personal satisfaction.

I look after prenatal, pregnant and postnatal women with a variety of complaints such as back pain, symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) and pelvic girdle pain. I also treat many women
without pain or a specific condition. These women want to ensure their body is in the best condition, and their baby in the best position, for the most natural labour and delivery as
possible.

I am certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and I am the only certified practitioner in Dublin and Wicklow. The Webster
Technique is used worldwide and is an invaluable treatment during pregnancy.

I also use chiropractic as a safe, gentle and effective way to treat young infants and children. As well as increasing general wellbeing, chiropractic consistently helps to overcome a range of common complaints such as colic, constipation, reflux, feeding difficulties, recurring ear infections, bed wetting, sleep issues and much more.

I fully appreciate the trust it takes to try a new approach during pregnancy, or for your infant or child. I assure you I will explain every step of the overall process and of your personalised treatment plan. I am also more than happy to answer any questions over the phone or in person in advance of your consultation.

I started to attend Fiona’s clinic in October 2014 when I was about 24 weeks pregnant with baby number three. I had two concerns at this time. My lower back and hips were tight and sore, a
long term problem I had had since my first pregnancy which flares up every now and then and especially when I am pregnant. Also my first two births were long processes with large, overdue,
posterior babies, meconium, syntocinon and epidurals. I really wanted to change things this time I was practicing hypnobirthing, had decided on a homebirth and I had been reading about the
webster technique which works to create more space for baby, and saw that Fiona was a practitioner.

I saw Fiona about once a week between then and giving birth to a 10lb 15oz baby at home at 39 weeks in January 2015. The birth was a beautiful experience and even though the baby was big
the labour was fast and the delivery easy. Fiona has a lovely approach. She listens carefully and explains what she is doing really well. She always gave me lots of time. I immediately could feel the results of her interventions. I was able to be very active throughout the pregnancy and was able to continue exercising right up to the birth. In fact I walked 10k the day I gave birth! I firmly believe that this is down to the work Fiona did.  It helped me during the pregnancy and supported me to have the birth that I wanted.

I have also brought my three year old to her since then and it has really helped our very long term sleep problems. Fiona is really excellent with children. My daughter loves going and her
sleep has improved. -Ciara, Dublin

Safia was around 2 weeks old when we brought her to see Fiona. She seemed to be in some discomfort from early on and in particular when lying on her back. It had been a difficult birth
and she had reflux too. We were a little unsure of what to expect. Fiona explained what she was doing which really reassured us. The treatment was very gentle and we saw a real improvement
in Safia after a few weeks. -Hannah, Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow
